the consumers association of ireland=CAI was found in 1966 which repersents irish consumers and seeks to protect their rights.
consumer responsibilities=if it too good to be true it probably is ! Caveat emptor is latin phrase meaning 'let the buyer beware'

be fit for purpose intended:the good must do whatyou expect it to do e.g a kettle must boil.
Be as described:the good must match the description given by the salesperson.packaging,brocher e.g a jacket described as waterpro.
Conform to the sample shown:for certain items bought from showrooms just a sample will be avalible e.g tiles.When purchesed it has to be the same as thge item showed to you

providedby someone who has the necessary skills and qualifications
providedwith appropiate care and attenton
carried out using goods or materials of merchantable quality

REDRESS:
three 'rs' refund:you can recieve the cost od the item back in cash or back to credit card
replacement:you can have the same or an alternatave product that is free from damage or faults.
repair:the item must be fixed free of charge.
