TENSES
Apa itu tenses? Tenses adalah bentuk kata kerja dalam bahasa Inggris untuk menunjukkan waktu (sekarang, masa depan, atau masa lalu) terjadinya suatu perbuatan atau peristiwa.
1. Simple Present Tense
Simple Present Tense adalah bentuk tense yang digunakan untuk menjelaskan sesuatu yang terjadi saat ini (present) pada suatu spesifik waktu. Karena terjadi pada waktu sekarang, maka pasti menggunakan kata kerja pertama (verb 1) dalam susunan kalimatnya.

2. Simple Past Tense
Simple Past Tense adalah suatu bentuk tense yang menggambarkan suatu kejadian yang terjadi pada satu spesifik waktu di masa lampau. Kata kerja yang digunakan pada tense ini harus berupa kata kerja kedua (verb 2).

apa itu verb 1 dan verb 2?
Verb sendiri artinya adalah kata kerja, contoh verb dalam bahasa Indonesia misalnya berjalan, makan atau membaca.
Verb dibagi menjadi dua yaitu Regular Verbs dan Irregular Verbs. Regular Verbs adalah kumpulan kata kerja dengan perubahan dari Verb 1 menjadi Verb 2 ditambahkan akhiran –d atau –ed.
Sedangkan Irregular Verbs adalah kumpulan kata kerja dengan perubahan tidak beraturan atau berbeda dari kata aslinya.
Contoh Regular Verbs terlebih dahulu. Kata 'walk' dalam verb 1 akan berubah menjadi 'walked' dalam verb 2 begitupun verb 3. Satu lagi, kata 'work' akan berubah menjadi 'worked' dalam verb 2 dan 3.
Beralih pada Irregular Verb. Karena tidak teratur maka akan berbeda dengan kata aslinya, contoh 'eat' akan berubah menjadi 'ate' untuk verb 2 dan 'eaten' untuk verb 3. Kata 'drink' akan berubah menjadi 'drank' untuk verb 2 dan 'drunk' untuk verb 3.
