First met at fire hdq. when John was in in an administrative position. I would stop in for a short visit anytime I was at Fire Hdq. really got to know John when he recommended me to then chief Halford to assist him in the Disciplinary board that had been established. As we worked together a friendship developed. I got to know John as a caring fair individual when dealing with employees on disciplinary matters. We usually agreed on actions to be taken on employees and most of the time Chief Halford agreed. I assumed that role when John retired. From the friendship both as friends and as
disciplinary board members I tried to be as fair as I could be to our employees due to my association with John and his general Usually when my shift came around I found time to visit John to discuss Job related matters as well as personnel and somtimes just to enjoy a short visit. This went on as long as John remained on the job. I stayed in touch after with perodic visits to Johns home.
