Notes

Today as I was walking to the office, a lady driving on the wrong side of the road from her apartment hit me on the left knee with her scooter. We both fell down and a security guard nearby rushed to her aid. I got up and dusted myself off and then put together what had happened. "Don't you know you should drive on the left side of the road?" I asked is a very calm tone, realizing that anger was starting to bubble up suddenly. The lady said nothing, she had an ID card, she was probably an employee in one of the offices in the IT Park.

The security guard said something to me, it didn't register, but it felt as though his voice was accusatory. I reeled around to look at him and said "What are you talking to me for?" in a loud voice. The poor guy almost tripped over himself in an effort to get away. I turned back to see the face of my assailant, she was wearing a niqab and a half helmet - and immediately I was reminded of my mother, clumsily trying to handle her own scooter. My anger drained away. I rolled up my pants and looked at my knee - just a scrape and a dull, throbbing pain - no worse than a basketball injury. I turned and walked away, I was getting late for office. The lady said nothing.

I'm getting soft, as I type this, I'm ashamed of my indifference. I need to become more evil. Suggestions on how to go about this are welcome.
