E.P. Amnesia
E.P.’s working memory seems to be fine as he can draw a picture based off a sketch, he can repeat things back like animals and colors in that moment. He’s able to comprehend and be task oriented on the task that’s given at that exact time.
E.P.’s retrograde amnesia is perfectly fine because his hippocampus was damaged but that only is damage to be able to create new memories. With that being said he was clearly able to explain how to get to his house where he grew up at based off his cognitive map in his head.
E.P.’s Anterograde amnesia was shown how it has gotten worse as he was asked what Jennifer’s name was and he could not recall but knew he has seen her face before but not sure what her name was even though she’s been there over 200 times. He also had many difficulties remembering new things, like that he previously drew a picture a couple minutes ago, or the 4 animals he was presented with.
