Apprentice Warehouse Assistant
Job description
Employer: D J's Only
Description: Duties include picking and packing orders, loading and unloading wagons, sorting packages into bays using barcode systems and general logistics. General cleaning duties also involved. Must be keen and willing to learn, punctual and reliable must want to progress within the job role.
Apprenticeship framework: Warehousing and Storage (Skills for Logistics)
Apprenticeship type: Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Skills required: Must have good practical ability and a good knowledge of Health &Safety.
Qualification required: No formal qualification required
Working week: Monday-Friday 40hrs per week
Training to be provided: Intermediate level 2 Apprenticeship in Warehouse and Storage. Work based learning.
Other important information: Monday - Friday
9:30am - 5:30pm
1 hour lunch
40 hours per week

From the 1st October 2013 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is in force for young people aged 16-18 and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. The rate from 1st October 2013 is £2.68 per hour.
The NMW applies to time working plus time spent training as this is also part of the Apprenticeship. Anyone not covered by the age category above will be entitled to the NMW appropriate to their age.
