2. Form a hypothesis- prediction based off observations, if...then... form, must be testable!
3. Experiment- must use only 1 test variable at a time, must have control with it, independent variable is what you change (x-axis), dependent variable is what responds to the independent variable (y-axis), control variable (unchanged variable, normal condition)
4. Analyze and draw conclusions- was hypothesis supported? what is the conclusion about the relationship between the dependent and independent varable
5. Share findings- publish work for other scientists to see and recreate
6. Form theories- scientists create explanation based off research
