Hey guys, Fale here, I wanted to make a topic video about the whole PewDiePie vs T-series ordeal because it seems it's rapidly dying and gaining traction at the same time. So, first, who is PewDiePie? PewDiePie, or Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellburg, is a Legendary YouTuber who basically started the whole "Gaming" YouTuber trend, back in 2011 PewDiePie had an idea to record him playing games and start a gaming channel. Now, of course there are posts of him on threads and other social media before this, but this is when he started his vlog series entitled: "Fridays with PewDiePie" which he gained roughly 60,000 subscribers from. Now, imagine being a viewer back in the early 2010's, vlogging was kind of popular, but no one had incorporated funny game-play and commentary on the scale that Felix did, so imagine how amazing PewDiePie must have seemed for kids and teens alike. Currently, as of recording, Felixis is sitting at roughly 94 million subscribers. Now, who is T-series? T-series is an Indian record label with just about every song in Bollywood, as Felix says in his latest diss track "Congratulations", T-Series is sitting at roughly 94 million as well. Now, you might ask, why does this concern PewDiePie? Well, the thing is, up until recently, much of India hasn't had internet. Now normally that wouldn't necessarily be a problem, but unfortunately for PewDiePie, it means everyone who makes a new account in India is getting T-series shoved down their throats. Now normally this wouldn't be a problem either, but Felix is trying to stay in the #1 subscribed YouTuber spot, and T-series is gaining subs fast. Now, you might ask, why does it matter? Well, it matters because YouTube is a social media based on it's users. Yes, the content creators like me, that relate to you, the viewers. Now, think about how bad it would look to see a CORPORATE COMPANY be the #1 subscribed? This is a big "we don't care" corporate move by YouTube. Recently, Felix has been under fire by media groups like "Vox" and "The Verge", with them posting articles about Felix being "Anti-Semitic" by using "proof" of some of his recent videos, like for example, he made a video shouting out some smaller YouTubers, and he caused a huge uproar with people when one of the channels he promoted, which Felix said he liked for its "Death Note Essays" which contained some sensitive "Anti-Semitic and white supremacist" media which one, I'm not sure I can disclose here, and two, Felix was not aware about, as he says in his apology video.
