"The Last Stand"

Max, an IT major, who graduated college in 1984 is fired from his job. He was head of the IT department at a mid-level business. Although he is genius with computers, he never understood how to climb the corporate ladder and make more of himself. One day, the safe job that he had was gone. They fired him for a younger guy with "more promise" for the company's future. When he arrived home from work early he found his wife sleeping with another man. This would change him inside forever. The beginning of his unraveling starts with a notion to use his computer skills against those who have hurt him. He spends weeks using his inside knowledge of the company creating a virus that would eventually become the demise of the business. He is questioned by the police due to his recent circumstances at work and home, but in the end there is no proof to tie him to the virus. This introduces the FCC agent who becomes the opposition throughout. After he takes down his former employer, Max moves on to his next target, his wife. **Need a brilliant way to destroy her life**

Now that Max has a taste of success as an off-the-grid hacker, his confidence builds and he wonders what else he could do and get away with. After all, his life was destroyed, why should he try to build another through the same system. He played Mr. Nice Guy all his life; he married young, never did drugs and didn't drop out of college. He played the hand by the book and got beat. It was time to create his new identity. One that gave him power that he perceived as due diligence for his suffering. The system of society caused his collapse, so he began to turn on it.

After a few more small time hits that were flawlessly executed, "They" began to take notice. That is how they were know among the deepest society of the cyber world. Even the most brilliant of public figures in the computer science industry (above and below) only heard whispers and rumours about "They". The group was a perceived made up group of super geniuses that more or less attempted to rule society through underground means of internet hacking. They were considered to be the Illuminati, the Free Masons, the secret circle of internet superpowers that had the world and its most powerful people in checkmate.

One day, Max was on his computer and a message box popped up that he didn't initiate. It was an invitation in the form of a test, although at the time Max thought it was some punk kid challenging his computer knowledge. Max attempted the lofty challenge and failed. He was embarrassed and disappointed and never even heard from the message box, which stayed minimized in his task bar for a week. After a week of nothing, the message box said "Welcome ... you have been chosen as the newest recruit for __Xx_ALaMO_xX__ ..... aka They."
