2013年底，一套韓劇《來自星星的你》令韓流熱潮越滾越熱，K-pop、韓劇等韓國文化已經成為了香港人生活上不可或缺的部份。韓流文化的盛行更加帶動了學韓語的潮流，令到學韓語的香港人急增。
大多數香港人學韓語的原因是為了興趣，追韓星，聽韓國歌曲， 看韓劇，綜藝節目，看韓國電影 ，喜歡韓國時裝等等。

香港某間韓語學校的創辦人說他們學校每週約有200名學員上堂，年齡層主要由約20至30歲，大部分學生都是因為追星而學習韓語的，女生人數佔約9成。
2013年底，韓劇《來自星星的你》令韓風襲港，韓語學生人數大增，亦令這間韓語學校的盈利迎來大幅增長。
