I would say that procrastination has been an issue for me as long as i knew what the word meant. Flashbacks to when I stayed up long nights doing homework assignments and completing projects the night before they were due. Falling asleep in class and struggling to pay attention due to lack of sleep, and silently counting the minutes before class ended. Playing on my phone and wasting time away at home when I know very well I should be doing my homework, but just not having enough willpower to get started. This is what procrastinating is, and I am one of many that struggle with this very common but hard to deal with*
problem. As bad as my procrastination might have seemed to others back in 7th grade, my grades always remained top notch, and my family never suspected that this would later morph into a problem that would affect more than just my grades. This year, on the other hand, was the year where my bad habits really got the best of me, and the consequences showed. Along with the obvious lowering of my grades, I suffered from a loss of motivation, had a lack of self care, and feelings of worthlessness and incompetence.
