* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: In the end, Henry [[spoiler: sends a cigar box with few small gold bars inside... while pocketing four large duffel bags full of it. By the time she receives it, Melanie Ridgeman's sclerosis is so advanced she only has one arm working and spent past year fending for herself and her daughter. Meanwhile, Henry is living in a luxury mansion, successfully laundered all the money and never has to worry about anything at all for the rest of his life]]. This is especially jarring, since it's obvious the screenplay intention was to show he kept his promise to [[spoiler: Ridgeman]], but the execution of the scene botches said intention.
* Valuesdissonance: In-universe. What Ridgeman and Lurasetti do during their capture of a drug trafficker looks like your standard fare police hold-out from any given police movie... only to end up suspended and with media turmoil over PoliceBrutality. For the record, they've holded a guy on a fire escalator and pinned him to the crate using foot.
