B. Alat Dan Bahan
a. Alat : Alat yang digunakan dalam percobaan ini adalah timbangan, batang pengaduk,, spatel, kertas perkamen, gelas ukur, pipet tetes, beaker glass, viskometer Brookfield, dan cawan penguap.
b. Bahan
Bahan yang digunakan dalam percobaan ini adalah piroksikam sebagai zat aktif, carbopol 940, trietanolamin, tween 80, dan aquadest.
Formulasi (Formula 5)
R/ Tiap 100 g mengandung 500 mg piroksikam.
Carbopol 940 5 g
Trietanolamin 3 g
Tween 80 5 g
Aquadest ad 100 g
* Zat Tambahan : TEA, Piroksikam
c. Cara Pembuatan
- Siapkan alat dan bahan
- Setarakan timbangan
- Menimbang bahan
- Mengembangkan carbopol 940 dalam 50 ml aquadest panas selama 15 menit di beaker glass
- Masukan TEA tetes pertetes ke dalam tempat wadah terlebih dahulu
- lalu larutkan piroksikam oleh tween 80
- Campurkan TEA dan juga larutan Piroksikam
- Aduk menggunakan batang pengaduk
- Masukkan aquadest
- Aduk kembali
- Setelah semua tercampur dan telah diaduk merata, letakkan di wadah bersih dan tutup
- Item Antibiotic Gel telah selesai.
nb : ( TEA merupakan alkalizing agent, diaman dapat membantu kelarutan dari bahan aktif (Piroksikam) dan meningkatkan pH dari Gelling agent (Carbopol). Tidak dapat digunakan untuk bahan-bahan yang mudah mengalami hidrolisis dan oksidasi (Piroksikam mudah mengalami oksidasi).
