"I don't know, Ray.." She whispered. "Maybe.. maybe I'm still just a bit unstable after.. y'know.." She played with her hands, staring down at them. "I.. I find it hard to believe that anyone would want me after..." She cleared her throat. "Listen.. This foster this is /only/ supposed to be for a couple of weeks. It's just me helping a friend out. If you don't want anything to do with that, I understand. If, though, one of us wants to keep her, then we can talk about it then. But I would /love/ your help in taking care of her.. i-if you're still interested.." She played with her hands, picking a little at her nails. "And in a few years.. if you still want to do the surrogate thing.. we'll look into that.." She hesitated, a few tears slipping down her cheeks. "If you still want to get married, that is.. if you don't, I - I totally understand.." She pulled the ring out of her pocket, and slowly held it out in her palm. She didn't look at him, scared he would push her away like she had done to him. She wouldn't blame him if he did. She was unstable, and was she rushing into things with Ray? Probably so. But there was not a doubt in her mind that she was head over heels in love with him. "I understand if you push me away like I did to you, Ray.. I've been horrible to you, and I deserve it.. and.. and we're probably rushing things, but.. I love you. With everything I've got.. I'm not going to let some kid ruin that.."
