I am really happy with how this turned out! When I had tried to do this previously, I struggled with colour matching the skin perfectly/getting the overall tone the right one. But when I did it on my model for the assessment, the colour was perfect. While doing it, I ended up doing it twice. This is because the first time, after I applied the first layer of concealer (orange tone) to cancel out the underlaying pigment of the tattoo, and then applied the concealer that was the same colour as the skin, I didn't powder enough in between because the first shade lifted up and mixed with the first layer. Instead of attempting to fix it, I just wiped it all off and started again because I knew that it will end in a better result.
Product list
- Orange toned concealer
- Skin toned concealer
- Finely milled powder (translucent)
- Skin toned powder foundation
- Skin toned spray foundation
Step By Step
1. Cleanse skin to remove any dirt and oils
2. Prime skin lightly
3. Work out underlaying pigment colour of tattoo (usually blue/green toned for black tattoos) and use opposite shade of concealer to cover. Ensure that no part of the tattoo is showing through
4. Use translucent powder and lightly powder to set into place
5. Colour match skin and cover area
6. Lightly powder again
7. Spray with foundation lightly to blend into surrounding skin
8. Powder skin using powder foundation to ensure colour match is perfect
MORPH
I quite liked how this turned out. Because it was a really simple design, I feel like I could have chosen a design that was slightly more complicated and still managed to do a good job. If I had to redo anything I would probably would have spent a bit more time mixing the colours and making sure they were the exact same as the dots on the paper I used. Even though I think i did a decent job of matching the colours, If i had spent a bit more time doing it, I probably could have done a better job. Besides from this fact, I really like the final outcome of what I did.

I am really happy with the final outcome of my final design. Even though there are many aspects of the design that if I had the chance to change, I would have, I am still really proud of what I accomplished because it was such a big design. One of the things that I struggled with in my design was that my model slightly bigger chested that I had anticipated/remembered so I tried to incorporate it into the design. Some of my favourite features of the design were the tattoos that I did on her. I felt like I could really incorporate my own style into them, as well as show my creativity. Another one of my favourite aspects was the back of the corset. This is because instead of painting on the ribbons (which was my original plan), I threaded real ribbon through eyelets (small metal loops that are used on real corsets) and glued them to the back. I think that this gave it a really cool effect and made it seem much more realistic. I am also really happy with how the hair and makeup turned out. I feel like they both really complemented my design.
If I had to redo any part of this look, I probably would have done a different design on the corset. This is because even though I really liked the concept of doing all the swirl designs on the bodice, they were very time consuming and I didn't love the final outcome of it. Something that I probably would have done instead is made the 'ombre' look more dramatic instead of light which was how I had it. I also wouldn't have put the rhinestones around the top of the design because I struggled sticking these to the body - they kept peeling off and because the skin moves so much in this area, they were continually falling off.
Besides the few things that I would have changed if I had the chance to do it again, I am really pleased with my final design, and how it ended up looking overall!
FAIRYTALE
I really love how this looked turned out in the end! Overall, it is probably one of my favourite looks that I have completed because I could really put my own style into the makeup look! The eye makeup is probably one of my favourite features because I feel like it really followed my design inspiration. The general idea that I had was a fairy turned into a dark pixie, which I think my design showed. The only aspect of my final look that I wasn't 100% happy with were the ears. I felt like they weren't my best work, and I had definitely done better. Even though this was the case, I still made them work with my design.
Step By Step
1. Cleanse face and ears to remove and dirt and oils from skin
2. Mould ears using wax and use spirit gum to attach
3. Prime face
4. Apply foundation to create a flawless appearance
5. Powder skin well to make matte
6. Prime eyes using concealer and powder
7. Line eyes - line upper lash line and create cat eye and also lower lash line, making sure to line lower in the inner corner
8.
