My name is Moein Mohammadi, I was born in Iran to a Baha’i family in 1992. As a member of Baha’i faith I was discriminated by government throughout my life specially in schools. Ever since first grade, I never felt like I fit in because all my teachers and school administrators knew that I was from a Baha’i family and treated me unjustly. For example, I was forced to participate in Islamic prayers and ceremonies that were part of school curriculum and was not allowed to express my own religious practices during the time allocated for these events. Obtaining a higher education was yet another obstacle because of all the discrimination against Baha’is from the application process to graduation. However, after overcoming all these unjust religious discriminations when I finished my bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering university administration refused to award my degree which barred me from pursuing postgraduate studies despite being accepted in a program.
