Did you mean to say you weren't expecting a letter back? That part got me a little confused, but if that's what you meant I don't plan on stopping this back and forth we have going on any time soon. You have a really good ending coming for Tokyo Ghoul, so stay on the lookout for that. And the art is just soooo good, especially the distant shots that it has sometimes are staggering.
The education in there sound pretty stressful to be honest. I only came to Canada about 2 years ago for college, so I didn't do school here, but in my home country the whole notion "you won't go to the next grade if you don't pass" was still there, but I don't it was ever explicitly mentioned to us. I feel like that is one of the reasons most people were more relaxed during exams. So, we had elementary school from grades 1-3, then middle school from 4-9 and high school for the remaining 3 years. From elementary to middle to high you had to pass these official examinations and I ended up going to a private high school and had to pass a bunch more exams just to get in there. And unfortunately, most of the time you have to take all subject. In high school we had electives and with each additional year we could get rid of 1 science (from Chem, Biol and Physics) and there were a lot of electives. Speaking of French, I studied that for 3 years as an elective, because my family was quite forceful about it, but now I couldn't remember a word of that language. I actually have all sorts of crazy stories just about French, but I'll save them for some other time :D
