He took me to a nice little 80s themed arcade it was called "Something strange in the neighbourhood". We played a few arcade games and then sat down in the cafe by the bowling alley. "So... what do you think of my family" He looked embarrased. "Believe it or not I actually really like them , I think theyre nice." "Yeah nice." He started to swirl his straw in his chocolate milkshake. "Whats that supposed to mean?" I sat up almost demanding an answer. "They.... can just be ...embarassing at times." "So can every family." I rolled my eyes and looked at the menu. "When am I having dinner with yours ?" He said it jockingly but looked serious. "My mum likes to experiments with food its usually hit or miss, usually miss- I wouldnt want to make you sick. " He sat up , "You couldnt if you tried. " "Oh really ?" He nodded his head "Last time she cooked she made us shrimp ... stuffed with peanut butter and for dessert she decided to put blue chesses in the cheese cake ." He rubbed his stomach "Mmmm my favourite!" We both laughed . A few minutes later a bubbly black woman came over " Hey my names Melissa and I will be serving you two today... My my my you are the cutest couple I ever did see !" "Were not !" We both said it at the same time and immedeatly got embarrased. "Couldve had me fooled , now whatll it be ?" We placed our orders and as she walked off we noticed a mini - jukebox on the far side of the table "Got 20p?" He asked feeling in his pockets. I handed him the small coin and he leant over "C13" He smiled to himself and the familiar bass line of living on a prayer started expelling from the speakers filling the room with its rhythmic beat "My dad used to sign this to me on our bike rides " I smiled , a wave of nostalgia coming over me . We spent the maority of my money on the jukebox with just enough to pay for our meal. We made our way outside it was 11 . "I gotta get going ." "Me too , Ive got to leave now to make it to the peak in time ." He looked down at the floor and shuffled his feet uncomfortably . "I cant believe that woman " He laughed to himself . "What about her ?" "Well... for starters she thought we were a couple ." "Is being mistaken for a couple really that bad ?" I looked at him "No of course not .. Its just a little bit ... strange ." "Strange ?" I repeated . "If anythings strange its the way youve been treating me the past few weeks .." "-I havent treated you in a way .." "Yes you have , you used to treat me like I didnt exsist but now... youre enviting me to dinner with your family. All I want to know is why didnt you like me when we first met . What was your problem with me ?" "I never had a problem with you -" "Then why did you treat me the way you did ?" "Because I dont like people ok , Im not a people person." "So why did you pick me to be your partner ?" "I dont know .." "The guy that you hang around with after school didnt have a partner , you couldve gone with him ." "I know .. I just chose you because I did ok thats it . Are we done now?" I shrugged my shoulders "I guess.." "Are you alright ?" He walked infront of me "Im fine" I smiled at him . "Die you murderous freak !" A deep voice suddenly yelling at us, he threw liquid all over us and drove off in his car. "Oh my god !" I screamed "What the hell !" "Chill out ok its just coffee.." He suddenly trailed off as he picked up the paper cup that had been launched. There was a scribbled message on the side . Coal read it allowed "Justice for Mike".
