Hello,

As the fall term nears its end, the Department of Residence Life staff is beginning to determine housing availability for new incoming students. It is important we identify spaces that will be vacant following the fall term.

If you are currently residing on campus in a room without a roommate or will be residing in a room without a roommate following the departure of your current roommate at semester, there is the potential you will be assigned an incoming resident as a roommate. If you are assigned a roommate, our staff will send you an email with your new roommate’s contact email. Please know that you must keep half of the room space available at all times to avoid a room not ready for roommate charge beginning at $100. If you are not assigned an incoming roommate at semester, you could be assigned a new roommate at any time.

If you are not returning to UW Oshkosh following the fall term, please review the following information carefully as it contains important information regarding how to check out properly from your Residence Hall space:

Fall Checkout Approval forms are now available at the Department of Residence Life office in South Gruenhagen 263. If you are leaving UW Oshkosh following the Fall 2018 term, you must pick up your Fall Checkout Approval materials by Monday, December 10th at 4:30pm.


In order to be approved for a checkout, you must complete the University's Not Intending To Return Next Semester form first. You may access the form at: https://uwosh.edu/newstudents/not-intending-to-return-next-semester/

Once you have completed the Not Intending To Return Next Semester form, you may pick up your Fall Checkout Approval form and Express Checkout materials from Residence Life. Please review the list below and, if any of these apply to you, please stop by our office by Monday, December 10th at 4:30pm to get your checkout materials:

· Graduating
· Transferring schools (you must be no longer enrolled for any spring classes and have formally withdrawn from the University)
· Student teaching requiring you travel 45 miles or more from UW Oshkosh (must submit copy of school placement)
· Participation in a study abroad program (must submit copy of confirmation)
· Participation in an internship requiring you travel 45 miles or more from UW Oshkosh (must submit copy of confirmation)
· No longer attending UW Oshkosh (you must be no longer enrolled for any classes and have formally withdrawn from the University)
· An approved fall semester only contract
· Applied for and received an approved release from your housing contract

If you are no longer attending UW Oshkosh and do not complete your form by Monday, December 10th at 4:30pm, you may be assessed an administrative charge of up to $100 in addition to improper checkout charges.

If you are no longer attending UW Oshkosh after the 14 week fall semester, you must be checked out by Saturday, December 15th at 4pm. You will be considered checked out when you deposit your Express Checkout envelope in your hall’s drop box.

If you have an interim class and will no longer be attending UW Oshkosh after winter interim, you must be checked out by Friday, January 25th at 8pm.

Again, if you are no longer attending UWO in the spring, it is your responsibility to complete the Fall Checkout Approval form at Residence Life. Doing so will ensure a quick and easy checkout process.
