Disarming Charm juga dikenal sebagai Expelliarmus Spell. Expelliarmus adalah mantra pertahanan yang memaksa korban untuk melepaskan apa pun yang mereka pegang saat itu. Diambil dari bahasa Latin ‘expellere’ yang artinya ‘mengeluarkan atau melepaskan’, dan ‘arma’ yang artinya ’senjata.’
Mantra ini juga memiliki kesamaan dengan Knockback Jinx, Stunning Spell, Banishing Charm, and Impediment Jinx. Mantra berguna (bahkan menyelamatkan jiwa) untuk menghapus objek dari genggaman musuh. Secara umum mantra ini mengeluarkan cahaya yang berwarna merah.
Mantra ini pertama kali digunakan oleh Severus Snape pada tahun kedua Harry di Hogwarts, lebih tepatnya pada saat Profesor Gilderoy Lockhart. Expelliarmus merupakan salah satu mantra yang mudah namun memiliki perlawanan yang kuat. Efek lain dari mantra ini adalah jika ada sekelompok orang yang menggunakan mantra ini untuk menyerang satu orang saja, maka orang yang diserang itu akan terangkat dari kakinya dan terlempar ke belakang oleh kuatnya mantra yang dimunculkan.
