Hey,

I never thought that I would be typing this message in all my time in ODSTs, but unfortunately, I will be. It has been a long time coming. It is my wish that I no longer wish to be a part of the ODST Platoon. Now, I have an explanation for all this. In the past couple of months that I have been an ODST, I have met so many great people, so many friends that I love to call family, and you all have brought me happiness that I thought that I would never get again in my lifetime. You all showed me just what a brotherhood feels like, and I truly felt like I belonged.

Those feelings remained true until the day that I screwed up. Monumentality.

I had to leave for a week because I was overly stressed by just how easily the people that I called my friends turned on me. The Commander that I looked up to despised me, and admitted he didn't want me in his ODST Platoon anymore. The best friend that rose to power in Spartans in such a small amount of time was turned against me, even though I was the one who was being wronged. These all made me sketchy on if I should remain. Then, not to be harsh, Martinez, but you went from CPL to 1stSgt to 2ndLT in a span of 3 days. I and a ton of other ODSTs felt wronged by this, but it was Lex's decision and we cannot undermine that.

It wasn't until I was given the opportunity to join up with a different, hand-picked battalion that these feelings came to light, and I want more opportunity to grow. More friends to make. I have been placed so many restrictions on myself as the Squad Leader of Bullfrog that it no longer feels right anymore. And so, I wish to accept the invitation that was given to me so that I may better myself and be able to grow even further than I would've in here. I hope you understand.

All of these have contributed to this current moment of me typing this message. I have trained Nessel to be a good replacement for myself as Bullfrog Squad Leader, I feel he does need some work around some edges, but overall he will be a good Squad Leader unless you wish to pull someone else as Squad Leader, then that choice will fall upon you.

Officially, I would like your approval before I move on from ODSTs, but regardless I would like to leave because I just don't feel welcome here anymore, no matter how much I have told myself otherwise. I do hope you understand what prompted this choice and I apologize that this is so sudden. I will miss you all dearly but I will definitely be popping by every now and then. I will never forget my origins as an ODST.
