Passing:
In a game of basketball passing is key to a team that wants to be successful. Picking the difference between a good and bad pass can be the difference of scoring points or not. There are many types of passes that can be made in a game of basketball.
Chest passing: Chest passing is a basic pass that involves having the ball up to your chest and pushing it away from yourself to a teammate. You put pressure on the ball as you play the pass to your teammate directly.
Bounce pass: a bounce pass can be a very effective and useful if being tightly marked by an opposing player. To play the bounce pass you look to play the ball into space, either predetermining where your teammate will be or passing directly to your teammate who is stationary. With force play the ball downwards to get to wherever you want it to get to.
Overhead pass: An overhead pass can be useful when on a fast break or collecting a rebound to play to a teammate that’s on the fast break. The overhead action is similar to a javelin throw, in the sense that the movement is very similar. This pass exploits space that a player can run into, or already in but far away from you, so you need more power on the pass then just a chest pass.
