Notes

• Convection Heat:
1. Dani set it all up, as shown in figure 1. She also set up a beaker on the countertop.
2. Dani put blue dye in the beakers. The one with the flame followed the current.
3. The blue dye rode the current.
4. Dani put glitter in the water.
5. The glitter had a hard time riding the current in both beakers, but it did eventually.

• Soup & Crackers:
1. Dani put a pot on the gas range, and then she put soup in that pot. The more heat an area was receiving, the darker the soup is. (in figures)
2. Dani had 6 crackers, and she put them into the pot. I have numbered them, as shown in figure 2.
3. Dani turned on the gas range.
4. At 2 minutes, cracker number 1 started to wiggle slightly.
5. At 4 minutes, the crackers moved more, as shown in figure 3. Also, we begin to see some burned soup.
6. At 6 minutes, we get a lot of additional burned soup, the crackers moved more, and Dani moved the pot, as shown in figure 4.
7. At 8 minutes, we don't get much more burned soup, at not much else happens. (figure 5)
8. At 10 minutes, the burned area retreats a bit, and the crackers move a bit. (figure 6)
9. At 12 minutes, we got to eat that soup.
