Clique: A small group of trusted family, friends, and other associates. Work together, have each other's backs...
Individual: A person and whatever they have.
It is a Hierarchical Patron - Client Network. Individuals are clients to a patron and the patron provides aid to their clients. Patrons use their 'team' to gather the means to provide for their team and clients. Thus the Patron - Team - Client System ensures everyone's protection. And one must pick their patron, team, and clients very carefully, preferably through established relationships. This is how one survives without a centralized, honest, strong, and wealthy government to depend on. Even to capitalize on its absence. The name given to the organizations are unimportant, and unique names help establish an identity - that strengthens it.
Both Patrons and Clients can be, perhaps should be, groups rather than people. Except the lowest level.
