I will get straight to the point: I want to start promoting music on my YouTube channel. I want something different to the big channels out there and in this message I will explain what I have in mind.
I would like to do a short video (30-60 seconds) showcasing a part of the song. Ideally I would like to post this a day or two before you actually release the song, but I am ok with doing the upload post-release too. Why such a short video? It's simple, it is literally all your work so I don't deserve any credit. I would only tease the song and add links to your various social media pages. Post-release I would update the video with links to the actual pages of the song (SoundCloud, YouTube, Spotify) so that anyone who is impressed by the teaser is forced to go and listen the song on your pages. I literally only want to promote. I have under 10 subcribers, but I do have to start somewhere. I would also share the teaser on my Facebook page (that I am yet to create), Instagram, my Twitter account and I will also look for some music-focused Facebook groups or Reddit forums. I really don't have many friends (on either of those) so at first what I am doing would literally make no difference, but as the number of people that follow me increases so does the number of people that see your music.
You might wonder why am I doing this. Everyone wants something, right? Yes, I do want something, but I am thinking long-term. After I will get enough followers I will look into creating a brand and releasing some merch.
I hope I am clear. I hope you like my idea enough to just go for it, even with the lack of benefits it would have for a while.
