1. Snap circuits: If you’re not familiar with them, Snap Circuits are building sets that use electricity to create awesome projects. The pieces “snap” onto a base, and it’s easy to create electrical circuits without a bunch of exposed wires or alligator clips. Aidan can easily follow the instruction manual by himself and has built a dog whistle, a morse code generator, several “space wars” sounds, and a spinning propeller that really launches into the air;
2. Marble runs: I couldn't find any information on them;
3. Learn to play piano/keyboard: If you can do lessons, go for it! If you can’t afford lessons, piano is an instrument that can be learned from books and Youtube videos, especially if your child has already learned another instrument such as guitar. My oldest son adores his piano!;
4. Film making: For the guy who is not really into building and engineering, how about film making? I talked to a friend who said her boys spend HOURS creating stop-action movies with their toys. They film with an iPad and use iMovie to put it together. It’s also fun to film humorous sketches or plays.
Collecting hobbies:
1. Stamps: Stamp collection is a hobby that is perceived by kids as well as adults. Kids can collect stamps according to a particular theme like sports, presidents, or different countries. Later they can also learn about things like watermarking on the stamps.
2. Coins: Collecting coins of different countries is a popular hobby among kids of all ages. You can also ask your friends or relatives to lend you some coins from their trips abroad. This way your kid can initiate his coin collection hobby. You can also build up your kid’s general knowledge by asking him to find out about the culture of different country and history of coins he collects.
3. Marbles: Kids may love collecting marbles as they come in pretty colours and lively designs. Marbles are easily available in stores and kids can use the marbles to play games as well.
Tech hobbies:
1. Design: Kids can learn to design a website or an app and could even try starting an online business (with the help of an adult).
2. Blogging/vlogging: Kids can start blogging at an early age, as long as they get help from an adult. They could even start a little vlogging channel on YouTube!
