Adam: so here’s the situation: castiel is human, all the angels have been cast out, gadreel has killed kevin tran, malachi and bartholomew are fighting for heaven, and metatron is the only one with access to heaven. Lucifer is pretty badly injured after the fight, while Michael and Adam came out scruffy but none the worse for wear. Sam and Dean are definitely Not Pleased to see Lucifer when Michael and Adam bring him back but M and A get protective and refuse to help unless they agree to help Lucifer, saying that L sacrificed to save them. So adam as a premed student has enough knowledge to patch lucifer up. After he wakes up he refuses to address why he came to help, saying that he did and that should be enough. Michael tells adam that he suspects something happened with lucifer in the time they were away.

Michael: the angels and winchesters decide that their best bet is to convert bartholomew and malachi’s factions. So while sam, michael, and adam try to hunt down metatron by following the trail of bodies gadreel leaves behind on his killing spree, dean, castiel, and lucifer try to track down either malachi or bartholomew’s factions. Sam can tell instantly that he’s a third wheel and tries to give michael a shovel talk, but adam gets angry and says that sam can’t say shit since he left adam in hell and dragged him into this whole mess in the first place. The trail of bodies soon goes cold. While they’re on the road, michael thinks a lot about lucifer and wonders if he’s starting to feel abandoned.

Lucifer: (flashback) soon after michael and adam leave, lucifer is visited by god. He’s spent a few days simply dicking around and not helping, and he’s unimpressed when god comes to him and tells him to go help. Lucifer asks why he should when god hasn’t even come to him, and god admits it’s because he feels bad about what he’s put his kid through and doesn’t know how to apologize. Lucifer mentions hos prideful god is, god agrees, it’s the closest they get to an apology. Then they have a father-son talk about luciefr’s crushes on adam and michael, though he himself doesn’t realize the extent of it. Still, it makes him realize just how much they mean to him. Then god tells him that they’re in trouble, and filled with anxiety, lucifer flies to adam immediately. Back in present day, lucifer is done with being the third wheel in cas and dean’s group. They haven’t been able to find any of the angels yet and it gives lucifer ample time to think. He realizes that he’d rather adam and michael be together and his friends than away from him, so he tries not to feel too jealous that they’re still together. Dean is pissed at lucifer, cas is indifferent. Luciefr acts unconcerned. They eventually come across one of the factions (tyrus) which is small but a start. Following the suicide bombing that killed tyrus, they agree to follow castiel despite metatron’s message about cas’ failing grace.
