entry: 65.5 million years ago, an asteroid wiped out all the dinosaurs. The asteroid blasted sulfur trioxide into the air, turning into sulfuric acid and causing the first-ever downpour of acid rain. Since then, there's been more acid rain downpour, but not from natural causes. Manmade chemicals like sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are emmitted into the atmosphere from power plants, vehicles, and oil refineries and mixes with chemicals in the air to form sufuric and nitric acids which then mix with precipitation to become acid rain. Acid rain affects almost everything. Plants, soil, trees, buildings, and even statues can be affected by acid rain. It is proven that acid rain stunts the growth of trees and changes the composition of soil and water. It is impossible to stop natural acid rain, but everyone can do their part to help reduce man-made acid rain by reducing vehicle and/or electricity use. It is only possible to stop man-made acid rain if everone does their part.
