Pay a visit to your potential universities websites we all know website now e.g
www.usask.ca, that's one of the Canadian universities at this juncture note that Canada has few universities unlike United States of America

From the University website Then proceeded departmental website of your chosen course, e.g environmental science department then look for lecturers that are spearheading research works in your area of interest. E.g there are various environmental science research, you just need to choose the one that interest you , it's always cool if have the first hand knowledge of the research especially if it's related to your BSc research work but Uno this is u from Nigeria, we're limited to so many resources. But just try and proof yourself.


Away from that, There is usually a link on university websites that show you where to get a the University lecturers contacts i.e your potential supervisor for your graduate courses. 

Ensure you go through his or her past and present research areas or interest. They always have one particular research focus unlike in Nigeria (I'm sorry but the truth)

*SOP/ML* (there's scoring for this please, so make it scholarstic😉 because this is how they will know whether Uno what you want to do or not)


Then Address the SOP ( statement of purpose) or ML (Motivation Letter) to the selected supervisors and send it to their respective email addresses; *(Note that Oyinbos treat email like it's their death sentence unlike our Nigerian lecturers)*

you can possibly attach some regular documents such as your transcript and resume. If you don’t get a response after five working days,e.g u sent tomorrow.monday, you can attempt placing a call to their Office phones or send the email again.(next week Monday) but avoid bombarding them with emails unless they would assume you're desperate eh! u can imagine the number of mails these guys receive in a day)
