In "The Lion and the Sheep", a lion cub grows up with sheep and convinces itself that it is a sheep because of all the time it spent with them. One day a lion decided to attack the sheep and stopped when it saw the cub. The lion asked why it was with sheep it said it was a sheep and the lion took the cub to a river and let it see its reflection. Once it went back with the rest of the lions it felt so involved. In this story the Introspection is indirect because the older lion represents 'self-awareness' and the lion looking in the water is a metaphor for 'self-reflection'. In "The Monkey and the Fish", a monkey mocks a fish for not being able to climb a tree. A seahorse sees the fish feeling bad and the fish explained what the monkey said. The seahorse told the fish not to feel bad for not being able to climb a tree because a monkey can't live underwater or breathe underwater. The fish feels thankful to nature for giving it such an amazing ability. The Introspection in this story is direct because the author clearly states how and why the fish decides to self-analyze itself.
