you see, We snap, text, like posts - fingers on screens but our eyes never meet. missing what’s really in between the thoughts and feelings that are not quite conveyed. what was written, isn’t what was meant but how it was read. My joke wasn’t funny - well it was to me - you took it as anger, no i feel sorry. I wait for a response, I wait far too long - now sad and confused - I don’t understand. Words and emotion typed on a screen. you read the words, I think that you’d know what I meant to say, but it’s what you saw, which is different from what i did.
If eyes could see eyes and words heard by ears inflections emotions a smile a laugh - you’d get it I know but instead there’s silence a blank screen of quiet.

I’m waiting, tick tock, for you to type back, the silence is thick and my stomach is sick - I’m sorry I didn’t mean it in that way - i don't understand? what did I say?
