okay, we have the quest portion down, at least the gist of it. I'll give it a summary so we have some groundwork at least:
Bonnie wakes up in the final stages of her quest. She was never the questing type, but this one was important. Bonnie was on her way to a well, where at the bottom lay a relic. We see her make her way through a forest, periodically checking if she's going the right way. Day turns to night and we see her crossing an open field. It's late, but she's okay with not sleeping. She's almost there. At the final leg of her journey she meets with a beast that starts chasing her down. She finds the well but is still being chased, and decides to jump- a leap of faith. She falls through gradient waters and ends up at the finale. The well is warm and bright, filled with plants and flora save the small pool of water in the centre. The relic, surrounded by moss, lay dormant.

Now while this might be an interesting little journey, this isn't where the bulk of character development, or even the plot, comes from. Bonnie, while on this quest, is going through an emotional conflict. She's anxious about something. And once the quest is over, rather because it is, her problem is solved. The issue is exactly what the conflict is, and that's what I wanna decide with this.

The first and most obvious option is a girl, one that Bonnie is romantically interested in. She;s in conflict whether to express her feelings, getting more anxious about it as she nears the "end", and by the finale she's made her decision. It's an alright subplot, but kinda cliche. We've seen love stories like this before (mind you, we've seen everything before). It just doesn't feel like the most interesting thing we can do. If we were to do this, we could include something about "desire", or a way that lets you see what you really want. She would see this girl. In our field, maybe.
The next option is something internal. Something she's figuring out about herself, and doesn't really have to so with other people. This can be something like stress, or just an emotional decision. I'm kinda staying away from dark themes, like depressing themes, because that's not what the story is about. Having the problem be solved by the end wouldn't be staying true to a conflict as serious as that.
Looking things up, it seems emotion conflict stems a lot from a character's past, and their present location and situation. The challenge here is finding a way to have the story and quest play an integral part in the character's decisions.
