This is the story of Wallace, Wallace is just an ordinary high school freshman leading a normal high school life. Wallace is not particularly popular at school, he has very little friends. But after he had recently joined the football team in his local public high school because he has a passion for the sport. Since then, Wallace’s popularity has been growing, he was an outstanding player on the team, his teammates loved him, his classmates loved him, everyone loved him. He was enjoying life, he thought to himself that he was happy, and nothing can tell him otherwise. Being such a favoured person, he was invited to a lot of parties with all his new friends. The football season had just ended and their team won the championship thanks to the great contributions from Wallace, he, therefore, had been given the title most valuable player of the team. Unsurprisingly, his ego grew and grew nonstop, he started to think that he was the best, that he was better than everyone else, he started to go to parties almost every week and slowly spending less time with his old friends before he had joined the football team. His new friends told him to stop hanging out with his old friends because they were ‘losers’ and aren’t cool enough. At first, Wallace didn’t really want to leave his old friends alone, but over time he had gradually forgotten about them and moved on. Not only that, he started to become mean to them whenever they tried to talk to him because his so-called reputation would be damaged if he would do so. This slowly progressed to Wallace bullying his old friends for no apparent reason just to make himself fit into the popular people by acting tough in front of the physically weak. But we all know that deep down inside his heart he was the weak one, he was insecure and scared that people won’t like him anymore. Through the years he started to get physical, often beating them up just for fun. His former friends were devastated and refused to recognize him as one of their friends anymore and tried to hide the fact that they were bullied, but their parents would become worried of their school life as they come home with bruises and wounds every other week. It's not long until the victims’ parents have reported such incidents to the school and so they started to further investigate in such events then finally concluding that Wallace was the bully. It was his senior year in the football team, but after being exposed of being a bully, he not only lost his reputation and ego, he came from being known as an outstanding football player to a violent bully, people no longer wanted to be around him, multiple college scholarships inviting him to play college football has been revoked. He had lost his future potential of pursuing a career in football, his résumé was destroyed, and even ordinary jobs might not even accept him in the future, he had destroyed his own future. Therefore, we should be cautious when it comes to making friends because having a friend that gives you bad influence might lead you into a life that you would only regret and look down upon because you know you have made mistakes that aren’t salvageable.
