Twogami Survives AU

Basically, this AU is simple. Instead of killing Twogami, Komaeda's luck quickly runs out and he's killed off by Terueru as intended.

In the first trial, everything goes as it originally does in the game. They go over the same potential killers and who did it, and eventually Teruteru was found out. He completely suffers a breakdown when being found out and Twogami, who sees himself responsible due to not being able to stop Teruteru from plotting this out, offers himself to get executed in his place.bPeople are rather shocked about this, obviously, but Monokuma rubs it in Twogami's face by chaining up Teruteru and literally dragging him out of his grip to get executed anyways. They also see a video of Komaeda being batshit crazy after the trial too, which he recorded before his death and hinted heavily he knew he would die, and even set it up that way.

Despite taking the blame on himself, Twogami quickly recovers and goes on to make a second plan; prevent anyone from seeing the motives by setting up a guard and even setting up a system where nobody would be alone going from place to place. Eventually the video game motive is revealed and Peko and Hajime are usually the set guards for it. The girls still have a girls night but nobody is killed in the process. They get decently close as friends and eventually, when changing shifts, Peko managed to distract the next guard long enough for Fuyuhiko to play the game and find out the motive. But, before Fuyuhiko had the chance to speak up about this, Peko for brutally murdered herself- she was ambushed in her own cabin and got repeatedly stabbed in the stomach to the point of making a bloody hole in her middle before a fake sword was placed through the hole and she was placed so it looked like she got executed. It's heavily hinted in the crime scene that the person also saw the motive game and knew that the two knew about the game as well. Fuyuhiko doesn't even bother to help with the investigation since he claims to know who the killer is, despite obviously being surprised and shaken up by her death. Twogami obviously is shaken up by the brutal death but manages to keep himself together long enough for the trial. On the stand, Mahiru is quickly accused by Fuyuhiko- he accuses her of killing Peko due to knowing what happening in the video game though Mahiru is quickly discharged due to actually being Hiyoko, having a sleepover at the time.

Twogami locks himself in his cabin for nearly three days after the trial, panicked by the brutality of it. Eventually, soon after the trial, they still have the fireworks show; Ibuki is more or less the one who drags Twogami along with them to go attend it. Soon after, the despair disease hits - Ibuki once again got affected by gullible disease, Chiaki for affected by a disease that made her talk in an aggressive "gamerboy" tone(think literally any streamer that spend a most of his time cussing and screaming at a mic), and Souda for bravery disease- which basically made him more brave and act completely abnormal, as well as attempting to literally leap out of a window when he saw someone who was in "trouble" - and unknown to the others, two of the other students for remembering diaease. Eventually, Mikan was found murdered in Souda's room and was even locked in it as well; she had been stabbed in her wrist with a needle with a liquid, which ultimately killed her in the end. Souda was found in the hall with long scratch marks on his back and knocked out and Ibuki was missing; they thankfully found the latter, who had wondered out of her room when finding it unlocked.
