Colloportus ini pernah digunakan oleh Professor Dumbledore untuk mengunci pintu hospital wing saat Harry dan Hermione menyelamatkan Sirius Black.
Lalu, mantra ini juga pernah digunakan oleh Hermione Granger, Harry Potter, Luna Lovegood dan Neville Longbottom pada tanggal 18 Juni 1996 pada pertempuran departemen Misteri. Kemudian, mantra ini pernah digunakan oleh Professor Severus Snape pada tahun 1996 untuk menutup dan mengunci pintu yang sangat kecil di belakang rak bukunya untuk mencegah Peter Pettigrew mendengarkan percakapannya dengan Narcissa Malfoy dan Bellatrix Lestrange.
