2019 yerel seçimleri yaklaşırken, partimizin kadın adaylar konusunda gösterdiği hassasiyeti ve daha çok kadının aday olarak siyasi arenada yer alması için ortaya konulan istekli tavrı, bir kadın aday adayı olarak mutluluk verici buluyorum. Partimizin yüzü olmayı başarmış, çağdaş yaşam biçimiyle tüm Türkiye'ye örnek olan İzmir'de de kadın aday formülü üzerinde durulmasını sürpriz olarak değerlendirmiyorum. Söz konusu CHP olunca, partili olmak demek, yalnızca partiye üye olmak demek değildir. CHP milyonların partisidir. CHP, Atatürk'ün ilke ve inkilapları doğrultusunda yürüyen, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'ne gönülden bağlı milyonların partisidir. Bu milyonlar içerisinden, cebinde parti üyelik kartı taşımasa bile, doğru bir aday bulunduğu noktada parti örgütümüzde bu konuda bir rahatsızlık yaşanmasını öngörmüyorum. Partimizin İzmir'i tanıyan, kentimizin gerekliliklerini bilen, İzmir'in temsil ettiği tüm değerleri en iyi şekilde temsil edecek doğru adayı bulacağına yürekten inanıyorum.
