Primadonna

(The Primadonna must have everything perfect, and that now includes the listener too. For this role, it would be great if you could keep a sense of arrogance or poshness in your lines. As the Primadonna, you see yourself as the star of the show! Make sure you stand out!)

(I'm fine with you using your normal voice ( the voice you used for your audition), however, if you'd like to add your own flair to this character then please, by all means, be my guest! This character is now your role and I want to hear how you feel the character should sound!)

(As for the sound effect instructions, please don't worry about them! I'll add the sound effects in when I'm mixing the voice files together, I just like having the whole script together so when it comes time to edit, It's all there in one file.)

(Once you are done recording, could you please send me it (in an mp3 format if possible) to my email: [email protected] The Due date for this project has been changed to October 18th, with October 20th being the very last day to hand in your lines.)

The Primadonna-VA:nanabean

(Soft music box notes can be heard in the background, along with the listener's footsteps and the sound of a tent opening)

Primadonna - (Soft humming that comes to an abrupt stop)

Primadonna - (Mumbled) Hmmm, I see the Ring Masters have sent me someone to fix...

Primadonna- Hello there...Who might you be?

Primadonna- Oh, a guest? With that get up?

Primadonna- Ah, I see, the Ring Masters sent you. Well, then how about I introduce myself.

Primadonna- I am Brianna the Primadonna of this Carnival. I dance, I act, I sing, I do it all, and along with me, I have my back-ups, though of course, they are far less important than I. (A light, snobbish laugh)

Primadonna-Though what might your name be, my dear? Hmmm, not exactly glamorous, though I suppose it will do...

(Tapping on a desk)

Primadonna- You seem rather, hmmmm, dull...Well since my show is not to start for a while, how about we play a little dress up? Oh yes, it could be a fun little game, you could be my new little doll...

Primadonna- Yes, I think that will do nicely...

Primadonna- Please don't look so unsure, It'll be fun I promise...now please, take a seat...I'll start with your hair...

(Hair brushing sounds)

Primadonna- Your hair is so soft... it's a nice length as well...though you do have a few dead ends...

(Scissor cutting)

Primadonna- (Mumbled) We can't have that now, can we?

Primadonna- Hmmm, how about you have some sweet tea while I style your hair? Good...

(Tea pouring and hair braiding sounds)

Primadonna- Hmmm, that's it...just relax...

(A sewing needle and thread are pulled out)

Primadonna- Now a good little doll doesn't need to speak, so let's sew up that mouth of yours while the tea keeps you nice and sedated (Unhinged giggle)

(Sounds of sewing)

Primadonna- Wow, my new tea blend is really effective, you're not even struggling! But now, we need to make your face all pretty and perfect, I can't have my dolls not looking perfect now.

Primadonna- (Lots of mumbling and creepy giggling)

(The sound of liquids and makeup brushes being applied to the listener.)

Primadonna- A little here...Some there...Just a bit on this side...

Primadonna- (Shakey breath) P-perfect, perfect, perfect!

Primadonna- Oh you'll be the finest of all of my collection so far, I just know you're going to love your new home here, with me, forever.

Primadonna- Now just rest, shhhh...just rest...Those stitches will take time to heal and you'll need all the rest you can before dance practice starts...

Primadonna- (Softly humming that slowly fades out as this segment ends)
