I am a 3rd year IIT undergrad and I recently secured Summer Intern offer from Samsung Research Institute, Noida (SRIN). I talked to my seniors about Samsung Noida and found out that many of them are not willing to work there and thus rejecting the PPO. So I consulted my seniors regarding this and found out that they felt undervalued at the firm and there were not exciting projects. I talked about it in detail and here is what I found and my constructive feedback. Please take some time to go through this.

So basically what I found was that the projects that some of my seniors got were not exciting or innovative. I would like to request you to look into this matter and discuss amongst yourselves about introducing some new projects and exploring some of the hot fields like- Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, etc and you can even allow the internees to suggest some ideas for projects. And also many undergrad students judge their important and value at the firm with the stipend that they are getting and compare that with other firms. I think a bit increase in stipend may make the internees more motivated and willing to work at your firm. This year only, Samsung Bangalore increased their stipend from INR 35k per month to 50k per month. And this has really affected the perception of Samsung Bangalore (SRIB) and my peers think of SRIB over SRIN. Recently Microsoft also increased the stipend (INR 45k - 80k per month) after they had selected the students for their internship. Maybe you can look into this matter. A figure in the neighborhood of 50k in considered very respectable in my institute and students are very much willing to join such a firm.
If you see many large MNCs have a stipend of around or more than 50k per month (Samsung Bangalore- 50k, Microsoft- 80k, Flipkart- 50k, JP Morgan Chase- 75k, etc). Increasing the stipend just a bit would not hurt the firm but will bring better candidates for intern and ultimately be beneficial for the firm. Also I feel that if the work environment is good and there are perks of working in the firm than it automatically increases the satisfaction of the employees. And more people would be join the firm.
