Sexual Assault/Rape:
- Family scared of letting me walk home alone and go to school alone bc of possible rapists/sexual predators; heard about 15-year-old girl getting sexually assaulted on the way home from Waianae; part of a reason why I haven't been allowed to walk home at all until 7th grade when I walked home with a friend(s)
- Possibility of being raped and then killed, paranoid, suicidal, held for ransom,
- Ex. parents have only one daughter, daughter kills herself, parents are devastated and kill themselves
STDs:
- People maybe cheat with others and have hook-ups with random strangers and receive STDs
- You have sex with anybody, you don't know how healthy they are, maybe they have HIV
- Some diseases, including HIV, have no cure
- Don't throw your body around and have sex with just anybody
- Possibility of hepatitis.
Abortion:
- You're killing an unborn child which also puts your life and body in danger; you can end up killing yourself
- If underage and/or student, then don't have sex because with a child, you don't know what to do
- Many issues; end up killing the child and/or yourself
- No parent wants that to happen; they don't know what to do
- Parents of pregnant teen don't know whether to keep the unborn child or kill it because they worry for their own kid
Pregnancy (Unplanned VS Planned):
- Getting pregnant in school could equal an unwanted child, dropping out of school, not finishing school, being unable to learn, no job, no money to take care of you and your child
- No one to take care of you and your child; you could become homeless
- You and your baby have no future
- If the baby's father doesn't accept it, you become a single mom
- Single moms are typically shunned and shamed upon
- In terms of culture, ex. Vietnamese people don't have sex or children until they get married
