Jaoobson bu yatırımın nesneye mi benliğe mi yatırılacağı
konusunu tartışıyor. Ben bu yazıyı yazmayı arzu ediyorken yazı
mı yoksa bu yazıyı (da) yazabilmiş olan kendimi mi daha çok
arzu ediyorum? Arzu ettiğim daha çok yazı ise nesne Iibidosu,
bu yazıyı yazabilmiş olan kendim ise ben Iibidosu (narsisistik
Iibido) daha baskın demektir. Bunu net olarak formülize etmek
mümkün değilse de bazı durumlarda nesne Iibidosu daha
baskın olabilir. Örneğin bitki yetiştirmek ya da bir hayvana
bakım vermek daha çok nesne Iibidosu ile ilgili edimler
olabilirler. Aksine bir koşu yarışını kazanmayı arzulamak koşma
ediminin kendisi değil yarışı kazanan kendini arzu etmeyle ilgili
gibi, yani ben Iibidosu ile ilgili görünüyor. Yine de hayatın
içindeki pek çok durum nesne ve ben Iibidoları arasında
kompartımanlara ayrılmış değildir. Bir kişi hem adaletin
kendisine duyduğu arzudan (adalet nesnesine yatırılmış Iibido),
hem de ünvan sahibi olan kendisinden tatmin olmaktan (ben
Iibidosu- narsisistik Iibido) avukat olmaktan memnun olabilir.
Bu farklı Iibidolar farklı bireylerin farklı durumları için asla tam
olarak ölçülmesi mümkün olmayan bir oran içerisinde
barınacaklardır.
