Horned Serpent adalah seekor ular seperti naga yang memiliki tanduk dan gigi yang panjang, itulah mengapa mereka diberi nama Horned Serpent. Spesies Amerika ini juga mempunyai permata di dahi. Menurut legenda, mereka bisa mengontrol cuaca, khususnya hujan, petir, dan guntur. Kemampuan sihir Horned Serpent ini adalah berubah bentuk, tembus pandang, dan kekuatan hipnotis. Horned Serpent juga menjadi lambang asrama di sekolah Ilvermorny.
Horned Serpent dianggap sebagai beast yang cerdas dan mempunyai mata yang tajam. Horned Serpent mengeluarkan suara musik yang rendah untuk menyeruakan bahaya. Serutan dari tanduknya dapat digunakan sebagai inti tongkat sihir (wand core). Permata pada dahinya adalah unsur yang paling dicari. Para pencari beast kuno memberikan saran bahwasanya Horned Serpent berasal dari Eropa Barat, tetapi diburu hingga punah oleh wizard-wizard untuk kegunaan ramuan.
