I don't believe in a one true love, as much as I'd like to think that. In all honesty, there's just way too many people on this earth to truly believe you're destined for one individual. I do, however, believe that there can be one with the most impact (taking into consideration all that you've been through and the multitude that you've come across) in the present moment. There are a plethora of people that you have the capacity to deeply connect with. It really depends on an individual's nature, whether you're monogamous, polyamorous, or don't find yourself attracted to anyone at all. Pair-bonding is a fascinating thing because it affects you right down to the cellular and molecular level, manipulating chemicals that give you the capacity to go through a honey-moon phase or go through the different stages of attachment. That's why some of us want only one person, or multiple-- to each their own. Life is an experience of endless growth. Everyone is temporary. Some more temporary than others. Some willing to grow with you, others wanting to grow on their own. During the unspecified time that you are here, I think it's important to keep your mind, heart and soul open to the possibilities to make the most of life.
Romantic love to me?
I find that it's two (or more) people willing to grow with one another with all the trial and tribulations to come.
It's not all honey and roses, but it's acceptance and love and compassion at it's most fundamental level. Because we are wired for that, biologically.
It's being utterly vulnerable, but feeling the most safe at the same time. A paradox.
There is no guarantee of forever, but there is a guarantee of giving your everything for the duration that you are there with one another.
Being together, not because you need each other, but because you really fucking want each other.
Whole on your own, but wanting to be so much better with them.
That is what romantic love is to me.
