Would it be disrespectful for me to write a novel on the events of 9/11? I recently visited the 9/11 memorial and even though I was born three years after the attacks, I consider myself to be well educated on the events and would really like to write a novel in a way where I could bring awareness to the current generations of 9/11 and how bad it was and that it shouldn't be forgotten. I have considered reaching out to eyewitnesses of the attacks. I have experience in writing and have considered publishing some of my stories in the future. I would write this in the point of view of somebody on the plane, somebody who was on the ground, or possibly I have an altered historical fiction plot in mind revolving around what if someone had somehow survived being on one of the planes that struck the WTC. I would really like to continue with this idea because it is so incredibly important to me to help those affected and pay my respects. I do not want to continue with this idea if it is something that would be disrespectful and offend those. Thank you!
