humans do a lot of the work for halloween, so jack doesn't have all that uch input on his holiday actualy, but he's also one of the main spirits of autumn, too.

his holiday duties include:
- making sure the pumpkins, apples, and squash for halloween are growing
- ensuring fire safety at bonfires
- keeping people safe when they trick or treat or go to halloween parties

his seasonal duties include:
- changing the leaves and helping dead leaves fall
- controlling the breeze/wind
- getting animals ready to hibernate/migrate
- getting the plants ready to sleep/die

other things he does:
- playing pranks and making general mischief
- maintaining order when it comes to all the ghosts, undead spirits, demons roaming around
- controlling pitch to some degree (he's been noticing pitch drawing away from the holiday, which caused the commercialization of halloween, but he never knew why that was (spoiler alert it was because he was working on his plan to overthrow the guardians))

winter court: strict hierarchy, politics 24/7, power plays out the wazoo, the spirits are cold and callous and self-serving and cruel and extremely powerful, slow to anger but hold grudges for eons (literally), fiercely protective of their own ("only I can fuck with them" type bullshit). ruled by the winter tribunal: old man winter, general winter, the snow queen.

spring assembly: hierarchical but there's some room for interpretation, concerned with politics and their duties as they affect everyone and not just themselves (the peacekeepers of the elemental world), keep pretty good tabs on each other but also let each other do their own thing (like they meet every so often but bunny never shows and that's usually just how it is tbfh). overseen by the most powerful of spring spirits: e. aster bunnymund,

summer pantheon: loosely hierarchical, quick tempers that flare up suddenly but disappear just as fast (no grudges), treat each other like distant cousins?? look out for one another but distantly, very laid back about their seasonal duties since they mostly monitor rather than change shit (like the other seasons)

autumn suite: more a random collection of vaguely similar elemental spirits than an actual organized party, the autumn spirits take care of each other and are very concerned about their elemental duties, try not to get involved with the politics of the spirit world. the more powerful ones are very loosely in charge: jack o'lantern,
