I got a parking citation dated today 09/04/2018
I am appealing this citation because I have been attempting in all good faith to buy a parking permit online since today’s morning 7:20 am but no luck at all online.
Whenever I selected “buy permit”, a message in red “there is no available permits for your classification would appear.”
An email was sent to the Transportation Department asking for help at 7:33 am
Several voicemails were left on the phones of the Transportation Department.
When the office opened at 8:30 am, my mother and I spoke with several employees over several phone calls.
Several issues came up
1) the system had a VISITOR status showing on my profile although I have confirmed my attendance as s student long time ago, and that is why the system did not allow me to buy a permit.
2) the system showed that I had two parking tickets issued on my orientation day. After several phone calls the Transportation Department explained that they have to update my profile to cancel the parking tickets on the “Orientation Day”. The Transportation Department explained to us that because not all students received correct instructions for the orientation so the parking tickets will be cancelled. But again because of these tickets I was not being allowed to buy a parking permit.
3) the system shows that I am dorming, but my housing was cancelled but again it does not show on the computer yet so I am heading right now to your transportation office to show in person and hand them the confirmation of housing cancellation in person so that I can finally be allowed to buy a parking permit.
I hope that all of the above explains my good faith in attempting to buy a parking permit.
I am sincerely requesting your department to accept my appeal for the citation that I received today 09/04/2018.
