This World

Once apon a time there was a magical princess fairy who married a magical prince fairy and lived happily ever after. Sadly, that's not how my story begins or ends. Too bad this world is so messed up. Too bad in this world we have gruesome deaths, fighting for out lives, and horrible endings. Too bad all the people who I've ever known, loved, hated, or even seen are most likely dead. In this world, you always turn into one of them. Always. But the worst part is, there's no cure. We've been searching since the apocalypse started. Most of us gave up. But I didn't.
For now, I might as well tell you where this started. Where it all began. Maybe then you will start to understand. But I warn you, if you decide you don't want to learn about my life in an apocalypse then don't continue reading, stop now. If you don't believe this, so be it. But let me tell you, everything I just said and what I'm about to say is 100% true. If you read to here, it means you want to learn about it, brace yourself, because there is no going back, this is the Zombie Days.

I groaned as I pulled myself up out of my bed and slammed my hand down on my alarm clock. It read 7:00am. I jumped out of bed and ran down stairs to have a shower. I turned the nozzle and hot water came spurting out, the steam rising to the ceiling. Ten minutes later I hopped out and grabbed my towel, drying my hair. I ran upstairs to pick out special clothes, because that day was picture day.

Too bad I didn't know what was about to go down.

I quickly brushed my teeth and hair, then ran outside to the but stop. I breathed in the morning fresh air, sweet but bitter. The bus finally rolled up and lurched to a stop. The driver slowly opened up the doors and I stepped into the big vehicle. Kids were on both sides of me, some screaming, some yelling, some reading.

Too bad the best of them are probably gone, wiped away by the sickness.

I wasn't exactly the popular one in school, I was quiet, small, and fragile. So I walked to the back of the bus where I always sit. It normally was the only place left seeing as my house was the last stop. The drive from my house to school was about a 10 minute drive, if there was no traffic. Though, no one complained if there was traffic before school.
