Quality
In books, Quality is defined as the totality of features and characteristics of a product or service that bears its ability to satisfy stated or implied needs. As the definition states, quality is something determined by consumer’s perception for a certain specification of a product, which might be price, material or even functionality. A consumer choice is set by some standard in which quality and price are must factor, this lets the consumer compare the product with its substitute, and make them determine which meets their standard/requirements for purchase. Producers also want to produce quality products by improving processes or conformance of the product, not for increasing prices, but to decrease the cost of the product and fulfill the two most basic purpose of business, maximizing the profit with consumer satisfaction. Service industry also maintains quality to maintain their customer who views reliability and sustainability as a prior part of its quality. This is how quality is defined in different sectors but, who truly defines the product, is the customer, with the product specifics. In short, without product specifics and customers, quality cannot be defined, neither can it be determined.
