The human body is very intricate but somehow beautiful. However, it also contains many things that are very terrifying and inescapable. The dream of being a doctor is not based on the fulfilment of becoming a doctor, but it is through understanding of the profession and the close-up experience of a patient dying. My interest in medicine started when I did work experience. At first, I went to the hospital to shadow physiotherapists and nurses, but then I witnessed first-hand how a doctor's job is very diverse; they don't only need to be skilful enough to deal with health problems of physical complaints, but it also requires patience and sympathy.
Last year, I attended a lecture that were led by doctors, which highlighted the financial, physical and emotional problems involving doctors. This gave me an overview of the life of doctors and the thorny path of medicine.
I have achieved a great balance between my studies and my hobbies. I have organised a chess team, matches and also participated in matches between schools. This has taught me the method of winning and improving through mistakes and losses, this may benefit my career in operations and continue the thorny path of medicine.
