I am a confident and motivated 16 year old boy in my first year of college. Although I haven't had any prior working experience, I am very enthusiastic to make a start and develop of sense of responsibility and independence through earning my own money. I believe I have a useful set of skills which could be helpful in a wide variety of working environments. When i am given an instruction, I react quickly to the direction given and always try to deliver with a smile. In the past, I have been a part of quite a few teams whether it be sports teams or a drama cast, and so being in these teams has given me good social skills and helped me improve my teamwork. Also, I have learnt to deal with the unexpected and listen to what a mentor tells me as I know their instructions will be beneficial to me as a person.
I know being on time is a vital part of any job, and I know I am reliable when it comes to time keeping. My links with performing arts has taught me how crucial timing is as if one person is late or misses a cue, things can fall apart very quickly. As a performer, people rely on you to be spot on with timings, and I feel I could transfer this reliability into always being on time as an employee.
In any job, acting on initiative is a great skill have, and I know that i am capable of doing so. Especially as i have experience in things such as performing arts where initiative is key to keep a production moving smoothly, and in football, where expecting and reacting is important for successful game play. I know I am able to handle situations calmly and efficiently and get whatever job is required of me done quickly and properly, without always needing to be directly instructed.
