Dear Lauren,
I'm not really sure how to start this letter. I guess I just want to thank you. We have a lot in common, to say the least, I know where you're coming from on the abuse and self harm front. I think the reason that I respect you so much is that you are just SO open about what you're going through. I know you don't put every one of your emotions on tumblr and I know there are probably some things that you don't share, but your ability to be that honest is amazing. I'm the type of person that keeps my emotions in, I don't share them with anyone. I generally just take them out on myself. But seeing you be this open, even over the internet with people you don't know, is inspiring. It has actually driven me to try and open up to my family and some of my friends. I know things are hard for you. I know sometimes you feel like tomorrow is not going to be worth it (I always tell my mom 'there is no point in getting out of bed when bed is the best part of my day, I will never,in this day, feel as good as I do half asleep on my warm mattress') but you help people. I think you're probably going to get a lot of letters but I just hope that you remember what I've told you and that you think of that next time you're down. Think 'I helped that random girl in America, I helped her and if I can help her then I am NOT worthless or dumb or any of the other things I call myself, at least for now I am being and for today being will have to be enough.' So now I've gone on a rant and I'm sorry, I get that from my mother, but I do hope you take at least something from this letter to heart. I guess if I could just tell you one thing that I want you to remember is that you are so important to so many people and that is such an achievement.
